Clay Maxwell

Business Innovationist. Clay is a veritable jack-of-all-trades. Since joining Creative Realities, Clay has been engaged with a wide range of Fortune 500 clients, covering industry topics from biotech to breakfast foods, toothpaste to medical devices.  Recently, Clay has been playing a major role in a host of different sessions ranging from future-trend-heavy Future Pull (uncovering key driving scenarios for biotech to the year 2020) to invention sessions focused on how to make next year a high-growth year using only existing tools and organizations.  In addition to his client-facing facilitation role, Clay is integrally involved in conducting and analyzing multiple online innovation diagnostic surveys, and is a prime contributor to Creative Realities marketing initiatives, including implementing changes in the CRI website and other promotional materials.  Throughout his roles, he has shown a considerable capacity for sharp analysis as well as keen creative insights.

describe the imageClay graduated from Duke University with a B.A. in psychology and history.  While in school, Clay spent time as an intern in the world of executive education where he produced detailed competitive analyses and participated on an internal innovation team looking at global branding, strategic innovation frameworks, and ideation processes, all of which contribute to the valuable, unique perspectives he brings to our team.

Clay brings a global view to CRI having traveled extensively throughout Europe and touching parts of Asia and Africa as well.  His study abroad in London epitomized his love for travel as he spent 11 of his 13 weekends enjoying countries other than England.  This may also partially explain why he is an avid soccer fan, faithfully supporting London’s Chelsea Football Club.

Clay enjoys bringing creativity into his pursuits outside of work as he dabbles, as he says, in both painting and cooking - his apartment perhaps showing the adverse effects of these activities. He also spends time on the weekends volunteering for the world-renowned Institute of Contemporary Art, Boston, and also the much smaller, but equally captivating, Mills Gallery in the South End.
