
President. Jay brings his extensive experience in strategic planning, consumer research and marketing communications to the world of innovation. His special skill-sets keep the consumer prominently in view, combined with a solid understanding of the strategic focus companies need to succeed.
Jay began his career in advertising with BBDO International in the early 1970s. Starting as an Art Director, he moved on to various roles in Account Service and Marketing Services. He was a member of BBDO’s International Marketing Services Board, and by the late '80s, had become Senior Vice President/Director of Marketing Services, part owner and member of the Executive Committee of Boston’s then-second-largest agency, Ingalls, Quinn & Johnson.
After 20 years in the ad business, Jay had a "Blinding Glimpse of the Obvious"… he loves creating new things more than he likes creating advertising. There’s something more challenging, more enduring and a whole lot more rewarding about creating businesses, strategies and products for tomorrow and beyond.
Practicing what he preaches, Jay helped found and lead Ocean Spray’s Innovation Group. Among the many successes of this innovation engine was the development of several major new product platforms (like 100% Premium juices and White Cranberry Juice). This also provided Jay with the invaluable opportunity to experience NPD from the client perspective.
For almost 15 years, Jay has led and managed innovation programs for a wide variety of CRI’s clients, including USG (United States Gypsum), Pepsi Cola, Colgate-Palmolive, Andersen Windows, AT&T, Bacardi, Chiquita, Reynolds Metals, Quaker and Walt Disney World.
